Subject: winsock with PCNFS
Hello World
I have to problems with winsock
1) where can I get documentation?
2) I have no access to hostnames listed in the hosts file. Using the IP address
works but I would prefer using host names. Could I be doing anything wrong or
doesn't the wisock interface support the gethostbyname call?
thank you in advance for your responses

Subject: Winsock and Lotus Notes
My current computing environment is a 486PC running Windows 3.1.
I am running both Trumpet Winsock and Novell Netware 4.0 on this machine
through a packet driver and the Windows packet shim (winpkt). The Netware
server is used for sharing normal PC software e.g Word files, and I use
Winsock to access the Internet from my PC. My organisation is currently
installing Lotus Notes to run on the PCs aswell.
This is the problem : When I start up Lotus Notes it just hangs. If I
remove the packet driver software (from autoexec.bat) then Lotus Notes
runs fine. How do I get all three to work together.
Lotus notes apparently uses a protocol called SPX, and Netware is using
IPXODI. Do I need to make a change to the Winsock configuration, or
packet driver, so it will accept SPX packets? Or is the solution to my
problem something else?
Any help greatly appreciated, and many thanks in advance.
